We are a local Missouri driving school and a member of the Lee's Summit Chamber of Commerce. Lessons are given in our vehicles, which are equipped with video camera, instructor side brake and mirrors.
All Academy driving school instructors are drug-tested, background checked and screened. We have a convenient pay-as-you-go option which allows paying per session. Gift certificates available.
We offer pick-up and drop-off of students in some areas, call for a price quote. Option to test in our vehicle at the Lee's Summit Highway Patrol. Military discount with proper ID.
Course curriculum Includes:
Knowing your vehicle, space, needs and vehicle dynamics, starting, steering, stopping, signs, signals, road markings, traffic laws, rules of the road, vision and perception, time and space, changing lanes, turning, parking, sharing the road, intersections, freeway driving, alcohol and driving, drug-impaired driving, distracted driving, drowsy driving, driving conditions, emergency situations, fuel efficient driving, tire safety, vehicle safety technology.
Student must be able to speak, read and write fluent English, since clear communication between instructor and student is essential for effective learning and safety.

Retired Police Captain Chris Garcia dedicated over 32 years to law enforcement, exemplifying a commitment to public safety and community service. With extensive knowledge and training in various aspects of policing, he played a pivotal role in shaping effective law enforcement strategies. Chris' experience encompasses leadership, patience, and community engagement, making him a respected figure in the field. Now, as a retiree, Chris Garcia continues to contribute to driving instruction by sharing his insights and expertise with future drivers.
Kim Chase
Hi everyone, my name is Kim Chase, and I cannot tell you excited I am to be a part of the team at Academy Driving School. In my previous job I was blessed to be able to teach people how to get their Commercial Drivers License (CDL) for six years. I am very happy to say I can now teach you how to drive and get your drivers license. John England is a retired real estate appraiser who has found a new passion for teaching safe driving and helping students learn basic and advanced driver education. As co-owner of Academy Driving School, his focus is on teaching the 8-hour How to Drive class.
